WIRE is an organization of female member-owners from the cooperative’s service area and employees who act as liaisons in the community. These members support Pee Dee Electric in its efforts to improve the quality of life in the Pee Dee, enhance the understanding of the cooperative concept, and conduct meaningful community service projects.

Quarterly dinner meetings are held at corporate headquarters in Darlington. Guest speakers include government officials and community leaders. Members are also treated to periodic outings in the community.

The 2008 schedule is as follows: February 21, May 15, August 21, and November 20.  All meetings begin at 6:00pm.

The Pee Dee Electric Cooperative chapter of WIRE provides monetary and/or material support to various community service organizations throughout the Pee Dee, as well as annual scholarships to rising college freshman.  Click here for scholarship information.
